SAPS increases visibilty and intensifies police operations

The SAPS Hillbrow Cluster has increased police visibility for the festive season.

The Cleveland SAPS communications officer, Constable Mpho Mashakane, said the intensified police operations started early in October.

“These operations will go on throughout the festive season. We will be conducting stop-and-searches and road blocks on our streets, in shopping centres, at intersections and in crime hot-spots. This week we had no big arrest but we know we prevented lots of crime in our area. We will increase visibility and make it hard for criminals to operate in our area,” she said.

She urged residents to report any information about crime in area.

Const Mashakane said people can report any information regarding crime to the police by going to the nearest police station or calling the Crime Stop line on 0860 10111.
