A 27-year-old woman was at a tavern on December 16, at about 11pm, when she was approached by her ex-boyfriend.
The ex-boyfriend asked to speak to the victim outside.
When the pair walked outside, the suspect allegedly pulled out a knife and ordered the woman to accompany him to his house.
According to Warrant Officer Richard Munyayi, from the Jeppe SAPS, once the pair arrived at the suspect’s house, he ordered the victim to undress and then raped her.
The victim later escaped and managed to open a case at the SAPS.
The suspect was later arrested.
The suspect is expected to appear in court soon and police investigations are continuing.
