Shop owners in Bruma have blockaded Marcia and Earnest Oppenhiemer roads.

Joburg East Express journalist, Buli Sonqishe, reports that traffic along both roads is at a near standstill.

Motorists are urged to find alternative roads while police officers deal with the situation.

According to reports, shop owners have been told to vacate the Bruma Oriental City into a new location, but they are refusing to do so.

“The shop owners are standing in the middle of the road,” said Ms Sonqishe.
