Millions set aside to rehabilitate roads
The executive mayor of Ekurhuleni, Clr Mondli Gungubele, reported this to council, during the State of the City Address on March 25.
A total of R213-million has been allocated for the rehabilitation of roads and filing potholes in Ekurhuleni.

“Recent heavy rains left some of our roads infested with potholes. I wish to reassure road users that this has been identified as a priority area and with the help of Bidvest Velocity, great strides are being made to clear the pothole backlog so that our residents can once again enjoy quality roads,” said Clr Gungubele.
He said EMM has rolled out a programme to clean up stormwater drainage systems to minimize the impact of flooding on communities.
“To safeguard the infrastructure and prevent flooding to properties and residential areas, a total of 110 stormwater systems were improved with over 1700 maintained,” said Clr Gungubele.
