Man arrested for robbery
The Jeppe SAPS arrested a 27-year-old man for robbing a business owner.
The Jeppe SAPS arrested a 27-year-old man for robbing a business owner.
According to Warrant Officer Richard Munyai, on April 4 at about 10.40pm, a 41-year-old man was at his business in Kimberly Road, Bertrams, when the suspect entered and pointed a firearm at him. The suspect took the shop keys which were being used to lock up the shop.
W/O Munyai said the suspect went behind the counter and allegedly took about R2 000 from the teller. He also took alcohol from the fridge.
Following the robbery, the suspect fled on foot.
The victim knew where the suspect lived and reported the incident to the SAPS.
The suspect was arrested at his house.
He is expected to appear in court soon and police investigations are continuing.
