Paramedics were called to the scene by fire services, where they found four patients being treated by firefighters.

At least four people were injured on Thursday night, three of them young children, when a fire broke out in a flat at the corner of Jules and Hans streets in Jeppestown.

On assessment, the ER 24 paramedics found that three male children, aged seven, two and seven months old, along with their 32-year-old mother had sustained minor burns.
Paramedics treated the four patients for their injuries and smoke inhalation. They were then transported to Johannesburg Hospital.
The cause of the fire has not been determined.
