Prof to discuss global change impacts
Professor Mary Scholes will discuss the impact of global change on South Africa.
The Modderfontein Conservation Society (MCS) meeting will take place on July 16 in the Modderfontein Town Hall, located at 1 Casino Road.
The meeting starts at 7:30pm when scientist, Professor Mary Scholes, will discuss the impact of global change on South Africa.
Prof Scholes, a Wits University graduate, is currently a full professor at the School of Animal, Plant and Environmental Sciences and serves as the Director of Graduate Affairs at Wits.
Her research activities focus on soil fertility, food security and bio-geochemistry.
Her research funds are mostly sourced from industry and the government. She is actively involved in monitoring the impacts on human health and the environment of the new power stations in the Waterberg.
