The robbery occurred at a residence in Bayne Street, Cyrildene, on July 16.
According to the Cleveland SAPS communications officer, Constable Mpho Mashakane, a man armed with a firearm locked the home owner and his family in one of the bedrooms at about 11am.
“The man ransacked the house. He took electrical appliances and jewellery before fleeing the scene,” said Const Mashakane.
