During their second term, St Benedict’s Grade 10 and 11 Visual Art pupils entered The Star Design-an-Ad Competition.

Grade 11 pupil Dakarai Dhliwayo designed an advertisement for My Spar, themed ‘My Baker’s Choice’ and obtained second place in the grade 10 to 12 category.

This is a remarkable accomplishment since over 20 000 entries were submitted for the 2015 competition.

Dakarai won an Android tablet, Spar, Woolworths, and Chesa Nyama vouchers, a Sweets from Heaven hamper as well as R5 000 for the school.

College headmaster, Mr Dave Jeffrey, said the school was proud of Dakarai.

Dakarai’s artwork will be published in The Star Newspaper on September 30.
