The development of Modderfontein by Zendai Development South Africa is growing with the launch of its first residential project.
ZDSA launched The Centenary Luxury residential apartments in Modderfontein on September 22.
The apartments are alongside the Modderfontein Golf Course and Flamingo Dam. The Centenary will feature 300 luxury apartments.
Speaking at the launch, Mr Anthony Diepenbroek, the chief executive officer of ZDSA, said The Centenary will be developed in phases.
“Construction of the first phase is intended to commence during the first quarter of 2016, with completion expected early in 2017,” said Mr Diepenbroek.
He said phase one will release 150 apartments, made up of one, two and three bedrooms in various categories, that will accommodate a wide range of buyers.
The apartments feature several amenities for residents, including a pool, outdoor gym, club house and a children’s play area.
“Today is about launching our first residential project. Our goal with The Centenary is to provide unique, high quality residential living spaces which sets the standard for Modderfontein New Town in terms of convenience, connectivity, sustainability and luxury,” said Mr Diepenbroek.
Mr Du Wenhui, the chief operations officer of ZDSA, gave the history of the project while addressing the media and said the group’s vision is that the new city becomes a unique landmark.
Mr Wenhui said the design of The Centenary incorporates courtyards with water features aimed at providing residents the opportunity to spend time outdoors.

“The Centenary offers apartments which are sheltered from the metro’s hustle and bustle, while offering congestion-free connectivity; afforded by the recent expansion of Centenary Road as well as its close proximity to the Sandton CBD and OR Tambo International Airport,” said Mr Wenhui.
Mr Wenhui said apartments at The Centenary will range from R1,15-million for a one bedroom, R2,2-million for a two bedroom and R2,8-million for three bedroom apartments.
Residents will have an option of basement parking or covered parking.
