Councillor comments on notice of route determination

The notice is for the proposed K113 route between K92 and K104.

A notice was presented regarding a route determination of a provincial road that was prepared in terms of the Gauteng Transport Infrastructure Act.

The notice is for the proposed K113 route between K92 and K104.

The notice further stated that the route determination and environmental report may be inspected during office hours from 8am to 4pm on weekdays, at 72 Herbert Baker Street, Groenkloof or an electronic copy can be requested.

Ward 18 councillor Clr Heather Hart said the route determination and environmental report which has been called for by the Gauteng Department of Roads and Transport at this stage should not cause panic because it is a study to determine if the route is necessary and if it should be kept on the Gauteng’s 25 Year Integrated Road Transport Plan.

“Should a panic arise, the ward 19 councillor, Clr Bill Rundle and I, will be the first to get a petition up and running and every Edenvale resident will have a chance to sign it,” said Clr Hart.

She said it is important for everyone to register as an IAP by emailing Elaine@lokisa.co.za and be assured of regular progress reports from the consultants accordingly.

Interested and affected parties may submit written comments on the route determination within 21 days from October 9 by hand to the mentioned address or by fax to 012 346 6074, email to elaine@lokisa.co.za or Postal Address, PO Box 219, Groenkloof, 0027.
