EPS celebrates National Stamp Day

Members of the EPS had a variety of exhibits on show, as well as a competition which featured a jar with over 1 000 stamps.

The Edenvale Philatelic Society (EPS) celebrated National Postage Stamp Day at the Greenstone Shopping Centre on October 10.

Members of the EPS had a variety of exhibits on show, as well as a competition which featured a jar with over 1 000 stamps.

Entrants into the competition had to guess how many stamps were in the jar. The guess closest to the actual number of stamps in the jar won.

Mr Danny Khoury, the immediate ex-president of the organisation, said he has been collecting stamps from an early age and they have changed in both shape and size.

Mr Neale Scott, another member of the EPS, said the public showed great interest as numerous people visited the exhibitions.

Sample bags were also handed out to those who showed interest; these bags included a variety of postage stamps.
