School celebrates different religions

Sacred Heart College celebrated its feast day recently.

In the evening, grade 6 pupils along with their families, friends, teachers and guests engaged in a communal prayer from different traditions.

The prayer was followed by a presentation of the core beliefs of the different faiths studied.

Mrs Lynn Walker said pupils then served all who were present with the festival foods and a display of their projects and symbols made during art classes.

“The purpose of this event is to celebrate the unique opportunity we have at Sacred Heart College – to grow in understanding and appreciation of the richness and diversity we can bring to our growth as spiritual beings,” she said.
