Machine gun preacher coming to Kensington

Sam Childer will march against violence together with the community of Kensington.

The Revival Valley in Kensington will be hosting a march on November 20.

The aim of the march is to address the violence in the area and incorporate local authorities to raise awareness for the community.

The march will begin at Bertrams Park, opposite Maurice Freeman Hall in Queen Street, and will proceed to Bezuidenhoud Park.

The march will end with an all-day carnival event.

The “Machine Gun Preacher”, Mr Sam Childer, will be part of the event.

Mr Childer is known for leading the Lord’s Resistance Army during rescue missions in Northern Uganda from 1998 to 2007 and in Southern Sudan from 1999 to 2010. It resulted in the rescue of over 1 000 abducted children.

He is still engaged in the rescue of children in troubled areas.
