A 44-year-old man has died after being thrown off a balcony at Denver Hostel.

Police have confirmed a suspect has been arrested in connection with the crime.

Cleveland SAPS spokesperson, Constable Mpho Mashakane said a 43 year old man confessed to police and the deceased’s family that he and his friend killed a 44 year old man because he stole his money safe.

The suspect was nabbed on Sunday just after 8am.

The 43 year old man was arrested on the scene while his accomplice is still on the run.

Const Mashakane could not confirm the amount of money that was stolen with the safe.

She said that will form part of the investigation.
