The public needs to ensure that their vehicles are locked.

Edenvale SAPS has urged the community to be vigilant at all times.

Warrant Officer, and acting spokesperson, Jean Olckers said the public needs to ensure that their vehicles are locked.

“Vehicle owners should test to see if their vehicles are securely locked,” he said.

He said motorists should be alert when parking their vehicles.

“The community needs to report any suspicious persons and vehicles immediately,” he said.

According to W/O Olckers problem areas include the avenues and Illiondale.

He further urged residents to familiarise themselves with the sector vehicle numbers.

r Edenvale residents living or working in Marais Steyn Park, Dowerglen, Dunvegan, Elma Park or the part of the avenues from Horwood Street to Hendrik Potgieter Street fall under Sector 1. The Edenvale Hospital and the Sizwe Hospital also falls under Sector 1. The Sector 1 vehicle contact numbers are 071 675 6840 and 071 675 6841.

r Edenvale residents living or working in Greenstone, Eastleigh, Illiondale, De Klerk’s Hof and the part of the avenues from Hendrik Potgieter Street to Aitken Road fall under Sector 2. The Sector 2 vehicle contact numbers are 071 675 6842 and 071 675 6843.

r Edenvale residents living or working in Isandovale, Harmelia, Highway Gardens, Edenglen or Hurlyvale fall under Sector 3. The Sector 3 vehicle contact numbers are 071 675 6844 or 071 675 6845.
