The winners of each club progress to the next level, which is the Area contest.

The Modderfontein Breakfast Toastmasters club held its International Speech and Evaluation contest on Saturday, March 12.

Five speakers took to the stage to showcase the skills learnt through Toastmasters and to compete for the title of Champion of Moddefontein, in the international speech contest for 2016.

Mr James Dhlamini prevailed and won the contest, with Mrs Karen Armour winning second place and Mr Richard Armour winning third place.

Toastmasters International clubs throughout the world start running their international speech contests in February and March.

The winners of each club progress to the next level, which is the Area contest.

The winners then progress through to the Division and finally to the District finals, which will be held in Midrand on May 14.

The overall winner will represent Southern Africa in Washington DC in August 2016.
