President Jacob Zuma has announced that the 2016 Municipal Elections will be held on Wednesday, August 3.

The announcement was made ahead of the final registration weekend on April 9 and 10.

The date selected falls within the “Constitutionally-mandated” period to host municipal elections between May 18 and August 16 this year.
