A 28-year-old man from Yeoville is facing charges of possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition.
The Yeoville SAPS spokesperson, Constable Thabo Malatji, said police officers were patrolling along Bradford Road on Friday, April 22, when they saw a suspicious man.
“When he was searched, an unlicensed revolver without a serial number and six live rounds were found on him.
“He could not explain how he obtained the firearm. He was then arrested,” said Const Malatji.
The man is expected to appear in court soon.
