Three suspects nabbed in possession of unlicensed firearm

Cleveland SAPS arrested three suspects for possession of unlicensed firearm

Cleveland SAPS arrested three suspects for possession of an unlicensed firearm.

This comes after members from the K9 Dog Unit were doing patrols at the shopping complex at Cumberland Road, Kensington when they were approached by a security guard informing them that there were three suspicious men driving a black Toyota Yaris on May 18 at 1.30pm.

They proceeded to the car and asked to search the occupants.

“Upon searching the members the police recovered a 9mm pistol with live rounds in the magazine. The suspects did not have a licence for the firearm and police also discovered that the firearm belonged to Germiston SAPS,” said Cleveland SAPS spokesperson Const Mpho Mashakane.

The suspects, one aged 25 and two aged 30, were arrested and detained at Cleveland SAPS.
