Residents invited to Q&A evening with election candidates
All residents are invited to question and answer evening with various ward councillor candidates.
Bedfordview and Edenvale News will host a question and answer evening with residents and the various ward councillor candidates who are contesting the Local Government Elections on August 3.
The NEWS invites the Bedfordview, Edenvale and Modderfontein communities to attend this interactive evening and grab the opportunity to ask questions from the various candidates.
The NEWS urges all the candidates for wards 18, 19, 20 and 32 to attend this evening and meet with voters one-on-one.
These candidates will have the opportunity introduce themselves to the community.
The evening is aimed at granting residents the opportunity to interact with the candidates, ask questions and familiarise themselves with the options available on the August 3 ballot paper.
The NEWS will host the BENewsQ&A evening on July 26 at Edenvale Community Centre at 6pm.
Candidates who will take up the challenge of being part of the #BENewsQ&A evening must contact the Editor, Marietta Lombard, on 011 609-4966 or email mlombard@caxton.co.za
Send us your questions
Residents can also submit questions for the various candidates via email to mlombard@caxton.co.za, subject line #BENewsQ&A, or via social media.
Questions can be posted to our Facebook page (Bedfordview and Edenvale News) or via Twitter (@BedfordEdenvale) using #BENewsQ&A.
Current ward councillors for ward 18, Clr Heather Hart; ward 19, Clr Bill Rundle and ward 20, Clr Jill Humphreys, who will again stand as candidates in these wards for the upcoming elections, have already committed themselves to answering community members’ questions on the evening.
“By convening this evening, we hope to allow our readers the chance to know more about the various candidates and cast their vote based on an informed decision,” said the NEWS’ Editor, Marietta Lombard.
The Bedfordview and Edenvale NEWS also reminds all the ward councillor candidates to submit their details to our newsroom.
Candidates are urged to send a good quality photo (approximately 2 megabytes) including their names, political affiliation and ward number to us by July 18.
Submissions can be sent to mlombard@caxton.co.za with the subject line, 2016 Elections – ward candidate.
