Modderfontein Conservation Society remembers Pam Vermont

The Modderfontein Conservation Society’s highly successful Pam Vermont Memorial Quiz returns to its traditional July spot this year.

The Modderfontein Conservation Society’s highly successful Pam Vermont Memorial Quiz returns to its traditional July spot this year.

The annual quiz is one of the society’s highlights of the year and takes place in the Modderfontein Town Hall on July 21. The quiz will start at 7:30pm.

Now in its 14th year, the quiz remembers Ms Pam Vermont who died in August 2013. Ms Vermont and husband Mr Robbie Vermont had organised the quiz from its inception. It was previously known as Pam’s Quiz.

Mr Vermont continues to run the quiz in her memory. He maintains that you can keep the winter cold at bay by joining in this fun evening.

“The quiz has a general interest theme,” said Mr Vermont.

“The questions cover a wide variety of subjects from science and current affairs to plants, fish and birds. They are mostly easy, but some are a bit more testing so that a winner will emerge,” he said.

There will be 100 questions to be answered by teams of five. Bring a team or simply join up with other like-minded folk for a fun evening.

“Lively debate and discussion is expected as the answers to the questions are revealed,” said Mr Vermont.

He advised people to bring pens, pencils and, perhaps, some scrap paper. He also suggests dressing warmly.

Visitors are welcome. There is a nominal R30 charge at the door to help cover expenses. For more information, contact Mr Robbie Vermont on 011 608 2693 or 082 800 3704.
