The ward results in the Joburg East areas are in with the DA taking ward 118.

The results for ward 118 shows 50.50 percent win for the DA followed by the ANC with 28.61 percent and the IFP with 14.62 percent.

Voting at ward 118’s various voting stations were as follows:

• Athlone Girls High School – DA received 77.56 percent.
• Eastgate Primary School – DA received 79.74 percent.
• Kensington Ridge Primary School – DA received 84.03 percent.
• Methodist Church – ANC received 72.36 percent.
• Social Services Container – IFP received 64.09 percent.
