Saheti Primary School learners were recently addressed by rower Mr James Thompson, who won an Olympic gold medal in the lightweight men’s four at London 2012 and who was the World Champion in the lightweight men’s doubles in 2014.
Mr Thompson captivated the grade 5 to 7 learners, teachers and parents with a motivational talk entitled Journey to Success: Overcoming Obstacles.
He shared his journey, highlighting the challenges he faced at school, which taught him to think differently and succeed in realising his goal. His message was to remain positive, solution-orientated and focused on achieving your dream.
