
Yeoville police arrested 30 suspects from 8 to 13 November.
The suspects were arrested for committing crimes ranging from murder, attempted murder, armed robbery and rape.
The suspects were arrested for the following:
- 2 for common robbery
- 1 for assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm
- 1 for common assault (with malicious damage to property)
- 2 for possession of a hijacked motor vehicle
- 1 for possession of dagga
- 16 for driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs
- 1 for possession of house-breaking implements
- 1 for theft
- 4 illegal immigrants
- 1 for possession of an unlicensed firearm, hijacking and attempted murder.
“The suspects have appeared in court. Some have paid their fines while others are out on bail and others remained in prison while police investigations are continuing,” said Yeoville Police Station spokesperson Captain Sifiso Mabizela.
