Queens High School’s Olga Makwakwa was named as the best female athlete of the year and was awarded a medal after competing in the recent Prestige Athletics event.
“I am very happy that I received this medal. I want to inspire others,” she said.
“I started participating in athletics in February 2013. I chose athletics because it was a talent that God gave me.”
Makwakwa said her parents and her coach, Sfiso Ngcobo, inspired her to participate in the sport.
The budding athlete would like to study commerce after completing her matric. “I want to become a lawyer. People must work hard in order to achieve better results in life,” she concluded.
