Mr Anton Dempsey, the Jeppe High School for Boys headmaster has wished learners, parents and the community at large a blessed and restful festive season.
Mr Dempsey acknowledged the challenges of 2016 but also the memorable moments.
“Yet another school year has come, very quickly, to an end. A year with its own unique challenges, but also a year that once again gave us many memorable moments.
In a year that was dominated by #feesmustfall and the incumbent unrest and uncertainty that came with it, we at Jeppe High School for Boys experienced a feeling of renewal and rejuvenation,” said Mr Dempsey.
The school opened an Indoor Cricket Centre, a new swimming pool complex and new classroom technologically equipped for teaching in the future. All the facilities were sponsored by individuals, past learners and a trust that are all optimistic about and believe in the future of public school education.
“The school is most thankful and sincerely appreciates the generosity of these people. In the classroom and extramural activities, our boys performed well and our achievements throughout the year are testament to our drive to provide a holistic education for all. We are driven by turning black and white into gold.
All the boys, their families and those in the Jeppe community are wished a blessed and restful festive season and we hope and pray for the safe return of everyone for what is going to be an interesting and exciting 2017,” said Mr Dempsey.
