Ballet gran celebrates 105th birthday
"Her face lights up whenever her grandchildren and great grandchildren come to visit."
Sylvian Robertson, a resident at Rand Aid-run Ron Smith Care Centre, recently celebrated her 105th birthday.
Born in 1912, the same year in which the Titanic sank, Sylvian celebrated the special occasion with her family.
It’s a large family indeed, made up of four children, 17 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren.
Her face lights up whenever her grandchildren and great grandchildren come to visit.
Sylvian was a well-known community member in the Bedfordview area when she was younger and also assisted her two daughters at their ballet school, where she became fondly known as “ballet gran”.
Sylvian’s family has always been and still is her whole life, she says, and she is deeply grateful to have them close to her.
