Lorraine Benjamen, founder of Hannah’s Hope Foundation, thanked Joburg East Express for publishing an article about the foundation’s plight last year, which led to exposure and subsequent donations.
“Thank you! Hannah Hope Foundation has received many donations and homeless people were able to have food on the table. Since publishing the article, Hannah’s Hope Foundation has attracted many donors and sponsors from the community. We appreciate the kindness from our community,” Benjamen said.
She said many homeless people have knocked on her Bez Valley door for help, and children have been benefitting from her foundation since the article was published. “I would like to thank all who have made a huge difference in the lives of these needy children. I believe that we can give these children a better and brighter future as a community,” said Benjamen.
She also thanked Pick n Pay in Darras Centre for always supporting her foundation, as well as L3 Mapelo (The Media Hub), and everyone who has helped by giving children and homeless people hope and a future.
Hannah’s Hope Foundation is a non-governmental organisation with the goal of being the community leader in providing professional person-centred services to enhance the wellbeing of underprivileged people. “The non-governmental organisation cares about the communities who are living in poverty and those who are alone,” she said.
The organisation provides unique and specialised programmes which enrich lives by educating and inspiring the needy, the homeless and those without an education so that they can be in charge of their lives. “We don’t view them as projects to help, but we view them as people to love and respect.”
Hannah’s Hope Foundation is in need of school shoes, stationery, school bags, hygiene packs and food. “We appreciate any donation so much.”
