Edenvale market held in support of bird rehabilitation and rescue centre
"It gives the people of Edenvale the chance to make some money in a safe environment."
With the launch of the Edenvale Indoor Garage Sale, community members have the opportunity to make some extra money.
On February 25 the organiser of the event, Ms Jackie Allen, said 15 vendors were at the market. The vendors sold a variety of homemade and secondhand of items.
Some of the goods for sale included secondhand books, records and apple pies.
“The market gives the people of Edenvale the chance to make some money in a safe environment,” said Ms Allen.
She said it costs vendors R100 to have a stall at the market.
Ms Allen said some money is paid to the community centre for the use of the venue while the rest is donated.
She said the rest of the money is donated to the market’s beneficiary Brainy Birds, a bird rehabilitation and rescue centre.
The market was held at the Edenvale Community Centre.
