Edenvale’s Sophia celebrates her 100th birthday
"I just lived a healthy life with no drinking, smoking or spoiling. That's my secret."
Living to 100 years old is no easy feat, but Sophia Lord reached this milestone on May 20.

The Edenvale resident celebrated her birthday with friends and family in Dowerglen.
Sophia said she had a good time on her birthday.
When asked what her secret was to living such a long life Sophia gave a chuckle.
She said there was no real secret.
“I just lived a healthy life with no drinking, smoking or spoiling. that’s my secret,” said Sophia.
When she was younger Sophia would stay busy and active by playing tennis or by being a loving mother and wife.
Sophia met her late husband, Harry Lord, while living in Kimberly.
Although she loved him Sophia said it was not love at first sight and took her some time.
“Harry was a fabulous husband,” said Sophia.
Harry died 40 years ago.
Sophia now enjoys spending her time reading books when she has the chance.
