Learners experience the workplace
The learners experienced some of the Whirlpool products and gained some insight into the inner workings of the company.
As part of the Take a Girl Child To Work initiative, 11 female Grade 12 learners from Soweto visited Whirlpool HQ in Bedfordview on May 25.
Of the group, 10 learners where from Aurora Girls High School in Soweto, while one was from Azara Secondary School, which is also based in Soweto.
Accompanied by Aurora Girls High School teacher Emily Thema, the learners experienced some of the Whirlpool products and gained some insight into the inner workings of the company.
More importantly, the learners interacted with female staff members who shared their personal journeys and the keys to career success.
