Man fined R20 000 for possession of an unlicensed firearm

JOBURG - Man was ordered to pay fine after he was found guilty by the Johannesburg Magistrates' Court.

 

The Johannesburg Magistrates’ Court ordered Mthakazisi Jack Buthelezi to pay R20 000 for possession of an unlicensed firearm.

Buthelezi was arrested on 14 December last year by Cleveland police during a stop and search operation on Main Reef Road in Denver. “Police arrested him after he was found in possession of an unlicensed 38 revolver,” said Cleveland police spokesperson Captain Johan Jordaan.
