Little Eden to host fundraising breakfast

At the morning event Professor Ermos Nicolaou, the guest speaker, will share his insights on the ethical dilemmas and considerations in obstetrics.

Little Eden Society is calling upon all corporates and individuals to support people with profound intellectual disability.

The society invites the community to a breakfast in honour of Little Eden’s 50th anniversary.

The breakfast will be held on August 3 at Investec Bank Limited in Sandton from 8.30am to 11am.

Xolani Gwala of Radio 702 will host the fundraising event which aims to honour the women who give of themselves by working tirelessly at Little Eden to raise awareness about the special needs of people with intellectual disabilities. They also assist the organisation financially.

The society cares for 300 children and adults with profound intellectual disability.

At the morning event Professor Ermos Nicolaou, the guest speaker, will share his insights into the ethical dilemmas and considerations that need to be faced in obstetrics.

The cost to attend the breakfast is R1 000 per person or R10 000 per table.

Currently, it costs Little Eden R11 500 monthly to care for each resident.

The majority of the residents at the home have been abandoned, and some come from indigent families who are not able to contribute towards the cost of their care.

All proceeds raised through the breakfast will go towards the cost of caring for the special people at the home.
