Ekurhuleni calls for the Thami Mnyele Fine Arts Awards entries

The City of Ekurhuleni is calling on all artists to submit their art work for this year’s 30th edition of the Thami Mnyele Fine Arts Awards.

The City of Ekurhuleni is calling on all artists to submit their art work for this year’s 30th edition of the Thami Mnyele Fine Arts Awards.

Up for grabs is R160 000 in prize money for the successful cutting edge contemporary South Africa fine artists.

Sculptures and installations can be submitted from August 22 – 24, between 9am and 7pm at the Coen Scholtz Recreation Centre, Mooifontein Road, Birchleigh North, Kempton Park.

Entry forms are available and artworks can be submitted at the following satellite venues:

• Springs Art Gallery, Corner 5th and 6th Avenues, between the library and the community hall, on August 22 and 23 for artworks on paper and canvas only.

• Katlehong Arts Centre, 203 Sontonga Street, Phooko Section, Katlehong on August 23.

• Boksburg Library Auditorium, Trichardt Street, Boksburg Civic Centre on August 22 artwork on paper and canvas.

Entrance fee is R50 per artwork. All artworks must be ready and suitable for exhibition and completed in the 12 months prior to the competition.

The winners will be announced at the prestigious awards ceremony, set to take place on September 23 at Coen Scholtz Recreational Centre.
