A man allegedly paid a girl (13) between R10 to R20 to have regular sex.

Jeppe SAPS arrested a 22-year-old man for statutory rape on Marshall Street on September 5.The man was arrested after the mother of the child opened the case at the station.

According to the Jeppe SAPS spokesperson, Capt Richard Munyai, the child’s mother alleged that she had noticed a change of behaviour in her daughter.
“She told officers that her daughter always had money for unknown reasons. Neighbours told the mother that her daughter was in a relationship with the suspect.
“The 13-year-old confessed to the relationship and alleged that she had sexual intercourse with the suspect on several occasions,” he said.
Munyai said when the mother of the child was at church, the suspect would approach the girl and give her between R10 and R20 for intercourse.
“He told the girl not to tell anyone.”
“The mother took her daughter to the doctor who examined her and confirmed the child had sexual intercourse,” he said.
