Locals help several animal organisations
Supporters hand out treats and toys to the animals and give them attention during visits.
Residents from Joburg, Bedfordview, Edenvale and surrounds residents opened their hearts and helped several animal organisations recently through the Santa Cause for Paws initiative.
This project collects gifts for shelter and township animals.

The concept is simple – people pledge on the website, shop and pack their gift with five required items and deliver these to drop-off points.
Santa Cause for Paws distribute the gifts to animals in shelters and townships.
Supporters hand out treats and toys to the animals and give them attention during visits.
Gifts include food, treats, toys and blankets.
This ensures that the animals are shown love and the shelter receives the necessary items they need to take care of the animals.
Over the years, residents have continued to support the initiative and a number of animal charities in Bedfordview, Edenvale and surrounds including Joburg Metro Police service dogs benefit annually.
