
Saheti Primary School learber Joshua Engelbrecht was one of 10 players selected to represent the Johannesburg Metro Club at the South African Junior Chess Championship held in January.

The tournament lasted five days, with seven rounds scheduled for three hours each.
Joshua went into the championship with a rating of 49th out of 75 children in SA in the u-10 age group.
He won six of the seven matches played, moving his rating from 49th to 9th in the u-10 category across SA.
