The protest at Pick n Pay’s Distribution centre in Longmeadow continues this morning as the parties failed to reach an agreement last night.

Elija Skhosana, the regional organiser for the union that is representing the workers said the meeting held with Pick n Pay management yesterday afternoon went on until later in the evening but they failed to reach an agreement.

“We just spoke to the management again this morning and the company is putting together a proposal for the workers. Once we receive it, we will take to the workers and it is up to them whether they will accept it or not,” said Elija.

A request for comment was sent to Pick n Pay yesterday. We still await comment on the matter.
