Grade Two teacher Kerry Pistorius said the school started the initiative to help local charities for Mandela Day eight years ago.
She said over the years the initiative grew and other grades from the primary school got involved.

“Projects like this one are important, they help learners understand that not everyone is as fortunate as them,” said Kerry.
The donation drive started on July 16 and will end on July 24.
The leftover bread, peanut butter and jam will also be donated to Khanyisa.
