Something Nice for the ears

He just joined the Jahbless record label.

Eight-year-old Thembelani Buyela may be young but has something to share through his music.

The KwaZulu-Natal born rapper has been inspired to sing by the likes of Zola and Msawawa.

“I love listening to music and I developed a passion for it,” said the little one.

Known to his fans as Something Nice, the Bez Valley rapper is embarking on a journey to inspire others through his music.

He just joined the Jahbless record label.

Skhumba de DJ, his producer from Jahbless Production, said they are happy to sign Something Nice.

“The boy is talented and has a lot to offer. We are always scouting for fresh talent that has something different to offer and he does. With the right grooming he will go far,” said Skhumba de DJ.

The boy does house and hip-hop.

“I write my own music with the assistance of my producer. I write about day to day life of what I see around me,” explained Something Nice.

He is currently in Grade Three.

He said school comes first.

“I love music but my schooling comes first. I try to balance the two and make time for each,” said Something Nice.

The young artist currently has a single out and it’s doing well on the airwaves.

“The plan is to promote his single and get his music out. Also, develop his talent and make sure he finishes school. Education is important because now the music industry is complicated. You need to know how to read a contract and understand the industry,” said his producer.

He said people will love what he has to offer.

“Something Nice is busy with an album called qghom kid. It will get people dancing,” said Skhumba de DJ.
