Edenvale Round Table collects much-needed donations

The donations will be given to various Edenvale-based charities and to the people living on the street.

Members of Edenvale Round Table 63 spent a day at Meadowdale Mall collecting donations for people in need.

The Winter Knights collection drive was held to collect non-perishable foods, blankets, baby formula and clothes.

Public relations officer Lyall Pearton said the donations will be donated to various Edenvale-based charities and to the people living on the street.

He said the initiative’s aim is to keep the less fortunate, destitute, homeless and children warm and fed this winter.

Founded in 1959, the non-profit organisation will celebrate its 60th anniversary this year.

It is currently looking for new members to join.

The organisation is a non-political, non-denominational association for men between the ages of 18 and 40 years old.
