Elderly host a birthday bash

Residents from Rand Aid's Wedge Gardens treatment centre provided entertainment for the June birthday bash.

Music, drama and dance were brought life to at Thembalami Care Centre on June 19.

Residents from Rand Aid’s Wedge Gardens treatment centre provided entertainment for the June birthday bash.

Rand Aid driver Jacob Bahumi at the Thembalami Care Centre’s June birthday bash. Jacob happily ferries residents around the area and joined the celebration for a short while after driving a resident back from a short stay in a local hospital.

The handful of people undergoing rehab at Wedge Gardens performed a play, read out meaningful and original poetry and sang songs that depicted their addiction journey.

After that, it was time for cake and other snacks and the handing out of birthday parcels to all those who were born in June.

Inyoni Angel Dugald Paterson happily helped serve eats to the residents of Thembalami Care Centre.
