Bedfordview’s Talia Naidoo and Ditiro Simelane from Edenvale will be cooking up a storm on the new season of Disney Cookabout.
The two cast mates will be showing off their culinary skills when the show airs on July 27 at 10.15am on DStv Disney Channel 303.
Talia is a learner at Bedfordview Primary School, who responded to an advert on Disney Channel about contestants required for the new season of Disney Cookabout.
“I really wanted to enter, so I submitted a one-minute video on why I wanted to be on the show,” said Talia.
Talia was then selected to attend an audition and then a callback and was lucky enough to be selected to be one of the contestants on the show.

“I loved the fun challenges that we had to do, as well as interacting with the other cast members on the show,” said Talia.
For Talia, cooking and being in front of the camera are two of her passions.
“I loved learning more about food. It was an awesome experience,” said Talia.
Talia’s cast mate Ditiro attends St Benedict’s College and auditioned for the role through his agent, Little CharmersSA.
“I love interacting with new people and learning new things and doing fun things, when I am not busy with my academics, which I take very seriously,” said Ditiro.
This was Ditiro’s first performance in front of the camera, although he has previously done theatre performances.
“I loved the experienced being on the show and the interaction and making new friends. I love cooking with my mom and dad. Tasting food is the best part of cooking,” said Ditiro.
Disney Cookabout is a cooking game show that showcases local ingredients where contestants compete in challenges by creating the best dish.
The winner will receive the Cookabout Golden Trophy and R50 000 for their school.
