Water outage: Reduce consumption in low-lying areas

"This is becoming a health hazard. We have been without water since Friday."

Several suburbs are still without water this evening as reservoirs are still being filled.

“The larger part of the supply system that was affected by the O2 pipeline burst has recovered,” Rand Water stated.

“There are high-lying areas in Ekurhuleni such as Sunnyridge, Sunnyrock, Dawnview and Northridge that are struggling to either recover or maintain consistent water supply.”

“This is becoming a health hazard. We have been without water since Friday,” said Sunnyridge resident Manus Lombard.

Rand Water urged residents in low-lying areas who are already receiving water to use water sparingly to allow reservoirs levels to improve.
