Activities on the beach included a 5km walk and a clean-up.
The learners collected waste weighing 223kg, with chairs, tyres, vehicle parts and plastic being part of the collection.
Learner Allison Visser carried a 15kg tyre back to camp and accepted a trophy on behalf of Hurlyvale Primary School.
The learners found the experience rewarding and were able to make a difference in cleaning up the environment.
