The walk starts at the Dynamite Company Museum at 2 Main Street and lasts for about two hours.
Heritage Month will be celebrated in Modderfontein with the Fact and Fables walk around the town.
The walk takes place on Heritage Day, September 24, at 9 am.
This is the 12th consecutive year in which this walk will take place.
According to Robbie Vermont, secretary of Modderfontein Conservation Society, walks are so popular that prior booking is essential.
The cost will be R50 per visitor.
Walkers are advised to wear comfortable shoes and hats and to bring something to drink.
The walk starts at the Dynamite Company Museum at 2 Main Street and lasts for about two hours.
Walk leaders are members of the heritage section of the Modderfontein Conservation Society, Keith Martin and Robbie.
In addition, the historical Franz Höenig Haus will be open to the public in the morning.
“This will allow visitors to see why the Modderfontein Dynamite Factory was called ‘A Power for Prosperity’ in the area.
“Also, this is one of just two days in the year that the Randlord’s mansion can be viewed, and there is no charge,” said Robbie.
For bookings call Robbie on 011 608 2693 or 082 800 3704 or Keith on 011 608 2864 or 082 4504003.
