Breast cancer highlighted at Modderfontein Farmers Market

Breast Cancer Awareness Month inspired the theme for the day.

Overcast morning clouds opened up for locals attending the Modderfontein Farmers Market on October 26.

The market was open for business despite the threatening weather.

Breast Cancer Awareness Month inspired the theme for the day as representatives of the Breast Health Foundation and Breastlight were present to raise awareness and funds.

The open space market provides ample lush greens for big family picnics and games.

Russell’s Jazz and Marli’s Music filled the air with jazz music while people relaxed.

Di Fisher, admin assistant for the market, said the next market will be held on November 30.

“This market will host Christmas carols and a charity drive for SPCA and hospice.”

The community is urged to take their unwanted toys, games, food and clothing to the November event to be donated to the less fortunate.

Entrance is free and a range of activities will be available to keep children busy.

For more information visit the market’s Facebook page or contact Di Fisher on 073 234 9994.
