Education programme impresses the Minister of Basic Education

This programme was launched in October 2018 and is foundered by Peter Mbimala, who is a former learner of Bertrams Junior School.

BUA Education programme held its first prize giving on November 22 at the communal and cultured Skills Village in Bertrams.

BUA is a programme that aims at empowering learners with skills and qualities that will help them achieve their full potential.

This programme was launched in October 2018 by Peter Mbimala, who is a former learner of Bertrams Junior School.

BUA was inspired by a lack of skill development in the school and focused on senior phase learners at Bertrams Junior.

The Minister of Basic Education, Angie Motshekga, was impressed by the programme and said the programme can play a crucial role in improving the learners’ foundation education.

All three learners spoke about the importance of entrepreneurship, leadership and effective communication skills and how essential they are in the world.

“I’m thankful to see learners of BUA delivering keynote addresses that explain the importance of the education programme, by instilling communication, computer, entrepreneurial and leadership skills,” said Mbimala.

He also took the opportunity to welcome the Grade Six learners who will be a part of the programme in 2020 and wished the 2019 class all the best.

Top achiever awards went to Ryan Njoroge and Rorisang Bolase who both walked away with the leadership and public speaking awards and shared the BUA Education SKY Award.

Other winners for the night included Ester Nekaka for top achiever global studies, Luboya Nkunabu for entrepreneurship, Kudzai Zvenyika for entrepreneurship, Ntokozo Mkhize for technology and Kgotso Modisha for communications.
