“We want to show people ways they can help a friend or loved one who has been diagnosed with HIV. Some of the help one might need is to be available and open with a conversation about HIV,” said Masala.

Masala said by hosting the event it gave people opportunities to unite in the fight against HIV and bring support for the people living with Aids.

Sgt Lotha shares a few words.

“It’s important for people to understand more about the condition. We aim to teach them how to protect themselves and to be informed as discrimination remains a reality for many people living with the condition. This was an opportunity to unite with people living with HIV/Aids.”

Community members came in numbers to support the World Aids Day event.
